What has Self-Isolation Taught us?

Hello!! It has been around five months since the coronavirus outbreak came to light. Since then, countries all around the world started going into lockdown, and by now, almost all the countries suffering from the pandemic are in lockdown. In addition to the COVID-19 cases rising rapidly despite the lockdown, there are many positive aspects of the lockdown. For example, global carbon emissions have fallen dramatically, and river water has become cleaner. On the personal front, too, there have been quite a positive changes. So in the following blog, I would be highlighting some of the positive changes that might have happened on the personal front.

1. New Hobbies

Sitting idle during self-isolation, a girl, who once dreaded writing, decided to start a blog. And now, she finds out that she loves writing. The self-isolation helped her find a new hobby. Self- isolation, thus, has helped people discover new hobbies for themselves, by giving enough time to self-reflect.

2. Daydreaming

With the uncertainty of resuming typical life and the whole day to themselves, people started daydreaming about the dreams they once had but had forgotten due to their hectic schedule. Again, self-isolation proved to be meaningful.

3. Introvert or Extrovert?

With the whole time to themselves, many people found the authentic side to their personality, i.e., if they are introverts or extroverts. A person who excelled in social gatherings found how he loved his alone time. On the other hand, a person who thought himself to be an introvert found how he liked to go out, party, and enjoy with his loved ones.

4. Positive thinking goes a long way...

Living in self-isolation during a pandemic is not easy, especially when the COVID-19 cases keep rising. People are frightened as they might contract the disease. But in these uncertain times, a valuable lesson learned is that 'Positive thinking goes a long way.' Thinking about a bright future ahead has helped the people cope with anxiety.

5. Reconnected with Oneself

Self-Isolation has allowed people to send the much-needed me-time. It has enabled people to reconnect with themselves. People have finally been able to invest time in activities they love and learn new activities.
